Keeping it REAL

Research in Academic Libraries

Research is an essential part of library work, and a core component of information professional’s identity. But what does it take to stay true to one's research goals and professional ideals? How can you make sure you’re keeping it real?

Organized by Holly Hendrigan (Simon Fraser University), Erin Fields and Jo-Anne Naslund (University of British Columbia Library), Christine Walde (University of Victoria Library) and Dr. Heather O’Brien (School of Library, Archival and Information Studies), join colleagues from all BC academic libraries for a full day workshop. Topics will include: Theory and Methodology, Grant Writing, Research Culture, and the Future of Research.

Whether you consider yourself a beginning researcher, or as someone who has some experience, or an expert, this day is for information professionals, students and educators who are interested and engaged with the research process. The day's structure allows for excellent opportunities at networking, brainstorming, and envisioning, and building a stronger research culture among BC's academic libraries.

Lunch and breaks will be provided.  Space is limited
